A High Wycombe opticians was transformed into an enchanted forest recently as it became the base for free children’s storytelling sessions.
Specsavers in White Hart Street was awash with leaves and Gruffalo footprints as young visitors attended readings of Julia Donaldson classic, The Gruffalo during the school holidays.
The little ones also got a chance to let their imaginations run wild, with Gruffalo masks and activities.
A word from the store director
Trisha Patel, store director at Specsavers in High Wycombe, said: ‘The Gruffalo is a modern classic and as we’ve just launched a new range of children’s Gruffalo specs in store, we thought it would be a lovely opportunity to do something special for kids in the area. The storytelling sessions were a real hit and I think the team and parents had just as much fun as the little ones did.’
Specsavers encourage parents to bring their children for regular eye tests from the age of four. Children requiring prescription specs can receive these in store through the NHS – with a new range of popular Gruffalo designs among the range available.
