Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists in High Wycombe ran a week long bake sale to raise funds for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People during Deaf Awareness Week.
Not only did the staff don their aprons but also involved their family members with on staff member’s husband, Simon Evans, cycling 100 miles to raise further funds for the cause.
The events were aimed at generating funds for the charity, and to make customers aware of all the hard work that goes into training the dogs so they can improve the lives of people with hearing problems.
Trisha Patel, ophthalmic director at Specsavers High Wycombe, said: ‘Hearing Dogs for Deaf People do a lot of fantastic work in the community. We’re delighted to be doing all this fundraising and awareness-raising with our customers.’
‘We hope that customers will continue to donate to the cause and to find out about the amazing work that’s done in local communities like ours.’
