Some of our team at Specsavers Hereford will be growing moustaches once again this year to raise money for men’s health charities throughout Movember.
The Movember Team will transform their clean shaven look as they sprout moustaches throughout the month. Raising awareness of prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems, the team hopes customers will support their efforts by making donations to the charity.
‘After the success of last year’s Movember, we have decided to support the charity once again this year,’ said Nialle Smith, store director. ‘Growing moustaches is a great way to raise awareness and get people talking about men’s health issues.’
The Movember Foundation has inspired the growth of more than four million moustaches since it began in 2003. According to the charity, potentially avoidable causes accounted for 24% of deaths in the UK in 2011. By sparking conversation and funding health programmes, the charity aims to increase early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment, reducing the number of preventable deaths.
