Specsavers in Hereford served up an array of sweet treats on Friday (26 June) and raised £65 for Blind Veterans UK as part of Armed Forces Week (22 to 28 June).
Customers make a spectacle of themselves
Celebrating 100 years of the charity’s work helping blind ex-Service men and women, the team encouraged donations by hosting a British-themed cake sale. Staff also invited customers to take selfies using their in-store photo booth and donated £1 for each sight test carried out during the week.
Specsavers Hereford store director, Nialle Smith, said: ‘We’re delighted to have supported Blind Veterans UK this year and were pleased to see plenty of people pop into store on Friday to enjoy a cake or two!
The charity are currently supporting more than 4,000 blind veterans and with our help, they hope to reach their target of recruiting 700 new beneficiaries in the coming year.’
