The team at Hereford Specsavers raided their dressing up boxes to raise money for Blind Veterans UK to mark Armed Forces Week (20-26 June).
A team effort
As well as donning their finest forces outfits and decorating the store in a military theme, staff sold sweet treats to customers and raised £50 for Blind Veterans UK.
‘It’s so important that we support our armed forces and Blind Veterans UK is just one of the charities that can help,’ said store director Nialle Smith. ‘With events like the Invictus Games helping to give a greater platform to what injured servicemen and women can achieve, we were really keen to help. The team all really enjoyed the day and a big thank you to everyone that came along to support.’
Blind Veterans UK was founded in 1915 and offers support, training and rehabilitation to blind and vision-impaired ex-Service men and women. The charity’s mission is to ensure that all blind veterans have access to the finest quality services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.
