A local charity is benefitting from support from a team of opticians in Hemel Hempstead.
First Gold Corporate Friend
Specsavers in the town has become the first Gold Corporate Friend of the Chilterns MS Centre, which offers care and support to people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), and will be donating hundreds of pounds a year to the cause.
John Houldey, corporate manager at Specsavers Hemel Hempstead, recently visited the Centre where he was presented with a plaque to kick-start the partnership. John said: ‘The Chilterns MS Centre is a fantastic cause and we are delighted to become a corporate friend.
‘Eye problems are one of the most common presenting symptoms of MS, so when it came to choosing a local charity, it just made sense to support the fantastic Chilterns MS Centre.
‘The team in Wendover offers specialist, life-changing care to people affected by the condition from across Herts, Bucks and neighbouring counties. We know our monthly donations will help to provide a lifeline to the people with MS and their families and carers.’
Sponsorship makes all the difference
Hannah Asquith, head of fundraising and communications at the Chilterns MS Centre, added: ‘On behalf of everyone at the Centre I’d like to thank Specsavers Hemel Hempstead for their support.
'Having a corporate sponsor like Specsavers on board makes all the difference as we rely on donations from businesses and the community to allow us to offer treatment and therapy to our 550 members – 330 of whom visit every week.’
