Staff from a Hemel Hempstead opticians put their baking skills to the test to raise funds for Guide Dogs this summer.

Specsavers in the Marlowes Centre welcomed working guide dogs to the store as they hosted a bake sale, raising £209.39 for the special cause.

A word from the store

Daniel Harris, the store’s co-owner and director, said: ‘There are millions of people in the UK living with sight loss, with an estimated 180,000 of those rarely leaving home.

‘Guide Dogs does such wonderful work helping those people with sight loss to live their lives to the full.

‘As little as £5 can support a working guide dog partnership for a day, and we wanted to show our support for their valuable work. We can’t thank our community enough for getting behind our campaign.’
