Specsavers staff in Helston joined stores nationwide to support Comic Relief, but with a Cornish spin for St Piran’s day celebrations.
Ogi, ogi, ogi!
Support and donations were encouraged over a tasty pasty and more treats for customers in store on 5th March. Staff wore the Comic Relief glasses and sales went through the roof for the novelty specs with comedy waving hands.
Sell out success
Thanks to the support of staff and customers throughout March the Helston store contributed greatly to the £250,000 nationwide pledge. In fact thanks to staff and customers the pledge was smashed with stores raising a massive £475,000!
Helston store director, Gillian Sanguinette, said: ‘We all enjoyed our obligatory pasty to celebrate St Piran’s day and it really helped us to drum up support for Red Nose Day as well! Thank you to all our customers for their support and I hope they had as much fun as we did.’
A great cause
Specsavers fundraising for Comic Relief will help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.
Specsavers has been a Comic Relief partner since 2015.
