Specsavers Haywards Heath know from calls to the South Road store that some customers are still nervous to return to their daily lives in the ‘new normal’ – including getting an eye test, even if it is overdue.

So the team have taken a number of extra precautions to keep customers and staff safe at what is still a challenging time.

Keeping you safe

The store is currently limiting numbers to make sure that social distancing can be observed, and has a one way system in place so those arriving for and leaving appointments do not have to come into contact with each other. A new spacious store layout has been created to allow even better social distancing.

Staff are wearing full PPE, and handwashing facilities are available for customers. Hand sanitiser is also available throughout the store, all equipment is sanitised after use, and all frames are sanitised before and after customers try them on.

When you need us

An express collection service is available in store so customers can collect and go when their glasses are ready, or for a vulnerable person, and the team are running 'dispense by appointment' clinics – so customers must book an appointment to check out the selection of frames available.

The team are happy to open earlier or later through extended hours to support vulnerable people and, where possible, provide a home delivery and fitting service for those who are shielding or unable to come into the store. There are also same day appointments available, so you may not need to wait.

A word from the store director

Hanora Murphy, store director in Haywards Heath, said: ‘We are doing all that we can to keep our customers and staff safe, despite the ongoing pandemic which is understandably making some people quite nervous about resuming their normal routine.

‘The safety measures we are taking in store are designed to make accessing our services as comfortable and stress-free as possible, so we would urge people not to put off their sight tests – especially if they missed them during lockdown when we were only open for urgent and essential care.

‘Eye tests are essential to keeping your vision healthy, but can also pick up on a number of general health conditions too. We are doing all we can to keep you safe, so please book your appointment with us today and let us support you with your eye health.’
