School pupils across Haywards Heath will be safer on their journeys to and from school thanks to a local optician.

100 vests

Specsavers, located at 89 South Road, has made a donation of over 100 hi-visibility vests to primary school pupils in the town. Pupils from Bolnore Village Primary School have received a fluorescent vest which will help them be clearly seen when travelling to and from school and when on school trips.

Specsavers store director, Trevor Hoare says: ‘‘As a store we are always keen to invest in the wellbeing of the local community and felt this was a very worthwhile initiative. With such dark mornings and nights, we wanted to play our part in helping the area’s youngsters to keep themselves safe.”

Drive safe

Specsavers has campaigned throughout the past decade to highlight the link between vision and road safety. In addition to its work donating high-visibility vests to schools across the country, Specsavers has toured motor and country shows nationwide, screening drivers’ vision in its Drive Safe campaign trailer.
