Specsavers Hayes in Botwell Lane is urging local people to take care of their eyes this summer by backing a new charity campaign, #shadesforsight.
The awareness campaign was started by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to mark National Sunglasses Day in June.
A word from the store director
Mark Worthington, store director in Hayes, said: ‘We are backing this campaign because we know from the RNIB that nearly half of all cases of sight loss are preventable.
‘That is why we are urging local people to protect their eyes by choosing – and wearing – sunglasses with a safe level of UV protection this summer.’
