Glasses wearers in Havant with spare pairs of specs to hand are being encouraged to donate them to a good cause at their local Specsavers opticians.

Specsavers in Havant is calling on the community to bring their unused and unwanted glasses during their next visit to the store, which will be donated to the Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) appeal.

The charity helps to provide outreach services and optical volunteers to communities in Africa where access to professional eyecare is limited.

Bill Vance, store director at Specsavers Havant, said: ‘We’re urging anyone with glasses they don’t use any more to drop them off at our collection box in store, which will help to make a huge difference to the lives of people with limited access to optical care.’
