Specsavers in Havant showed its support for World Glaucoma Week (11-18 March) by completing additional training to learn more about the condition.

Staff members have completed a course which has been created with the International Glaucoma Association, which will enable them to assist glaucoma sufferers in manging the condition, such as advising on how to effectively administer eye drops.

Greater care

Glaucoma is thought to affect around 700,000 people in the UK, and Specsavers Havant is aiming to raise further awareness of the condition by backing World Glaucoma Week this month.

Bill Vance, store director at Specsavers Havant, said: ‘With glaucoma affecting so many people in the UK today, we have taken on the extra training to ensure we are fully prepared to care for local residents living with the condition.'
