The fourth annual Havant Hornets badminton tournament welcomed 96 talented young players from all over the south of England to Havant Leisure Centre.
Years of support
Specsavers has donated £500 each year to the event, which is now one of the most prestigious youth sporting competitions in the south. This year, the store had their own stall to educate the players and the public on the importance and benefits of wearing contact lenses during sport.
A real buzz
Hornets coach John Broomhead said: ‘It was a huge success again. All the games were very, very tight and there was a fantastic atmosphere. It was absolutely amazing. The place was buzzing with excitement and anticipation from the start.’
Store manager, Karen Jarrold added: ‘It’s always a delight to see such a friendly, yet competitive atmosphere. The aim is to promote the sport among the youngsters and we want to be able to equip young glasses wearers with the same opportunities and understanding of how they can go about playing sport safely.’
