Specsaver Hastings are big supporters of Walk to School Week, which took place at the end of May.

So the Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, Queens Road, store were delighted to donate a batch of high-visibility vests to Sandown School in Ore.

Keeping children visible

The vests are designed to help keep children visible to motorists as they walk to school.

And while it is relatively light at this time of year, you can never been too careful when it comes to road safety.

Rob Lofting, store director in Hastings, said: ‘We are committed to supporting the local community that we serve.

‘That is why we jumped at the chance to donate these vests – and we are delighted that the children are making good use of them.’
