The team at Specsavers Hastings are urging you to bring your used glasses into the Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, Queens Road, store to help a local charity.
The store collects the glasses on behalf of the Lions Club of Hastings, who recycle the glasses to support projects in the developing world and beyond.
Impressive total collected
Over the last three years alone, the store has collected an average of 375 pairs of used glasses per month.
This gives an impressive total of 13,500 pairs of glasses, by far the biggest total collected from any individual store in the local area.
Rob Lofting, store director in Hastings, said: ‘We would like to thank our customers for their generosity and time taken to donate their used glasses to us.
‘Your donations really do make a massive difference, so please continue to drop them in and we will pass them on to the Lions Club.’
