Specsavers Harrow are highlighting just a few of the inspirational women in store this International Women’s Day.
And there are plenty to choose from at the Station Road store, as 70% of the team are female – including ophthalmic director Unhar Gupta.
Heather is a qualified dispensing optician who has been in optics for 40 years. She has been at the heart of the Specsavers Harrow team for 17 years. She loves her job because she loves meeting people and helping them.
Away from work, Heather has three daughters and six grandchildren. Her hobbies are yoga, shopping, eating out, travelling, and going to the theatre.
Nilo is an optical assistant who has been with Specsavers Harrow for two and a half years. She enjoys face to face customer contact, and loves working for Specsavers because it has allowed her to progress into lots of different areas.
She enjoys writing poetry, travelling, and food.
Amanda has been part of the team at the Station Road store for two years, and is a pre-registration dispensing optician. She enjoys helping customers choose the right glasses to suit their look and their lifestyle.
She is particularly well known in store for her ability to put children at ease when choosing their glasses for the first time. When not at work she enjoys lawn tennis, hair styling and make up.
A word from the retail director
Adam Shackle, retail director in Harrow, said: ‘We have a terrific team at Specsavers Harrow. We have some great men on the team too, of course, but this is a great chance to highlight just a few of our amazing female staff.
‘International Women’s Day is a great chance to recognise inspirational women from all around the world, and we are delighted that so many have chosen to be part of our team at Specsavers Harrow.’
