Young dancers in Harlow will be safer during the dark winter nights thanks to opticians in the town.
Specsavers in Harlow have donated high visibility jackets to a dance teaching group called the ‘Hip Hop Troup’ who will be distributing the jackets as they tour the local schools to give dance lessons.
The store have also donated vests to a local bike shop for distribution with children’s bike purchases in order to raise awareness among young cyclists and keep them safe when using the roads.
Harlow store director, Neha Patel, said: ‘Road safety is a topic which is close to all our hearts and Road Safety week is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness among the community its importance and the vital role eyesight plays in staying safe.
‘There are hundreds of tragedies taking place every year on the roads and we are proud to be able to do our bit to reduce these numbers and keep the children safe around road traffic.’
