Specsavers in Hampton St Clares Sainsbury’s is reaching out to the local community to help provide professional eye care to those in need in Africa.
The store is calling on anyone in the local area who has pairs of unused or unwanted specs to donate them to the store’s Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) appeal.
Customers popping in for an eye test or just passing by can drop of their old specs at the store’s collection.
These glasses are then collected and recycled, with proceeds raised from the recycled parts used to fund outreach services and send eyecare experts to isolated African communities.
A word from the store director
Keval Pabari, store director at Specsavers Hampton St Clares Sainsbury’s, said: ‘Vision Aid Overseas is an incredibly important charity and one we are proud to support. We are now calling on customers to help us donate as many glasses as we can this year.’
