Specsavers in Hampton is due to send its first box of donated glasses to Vision Aid Overseas, a charity enabling those living in poverty in Africa to access affordable glasses and eye care.
100 and counting
Despite only being open for three months, the store has already collected more than 100 pairs of old and unused specs from customers, which will be collected and recycled by Vision Aid Overseas. Proceeds generated from the reusable parts are used to establish vision centres, train local eye care professionals and provide outreach services to isolated communities in Africa.
Keval Pabari, store director at Specsavers Hampton, said: ‘We’ve only been open for a few months but we’ve already had a brilliant response from customers for Vision Aid Overseas. All the glasses we send to the charity will go a long way to helping people in need gain access to professional eye care.’
Send in your donations
Specsavers Hampton is now targeting further Vision Aid Overseas donations and is encouraging the entire community to get behind the cause. If you have any old specs to hand, please donate them at the store today.
