Parents in Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush are being encouraged to take their child for a sight test and find out more information on protecting their kids’ sight from harmful UV rays this summer.
Summer sun protection
The Specsavers teams in Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush are opening extra testing clinics during the summer holidays to allow more families to have their sight checked.
Nimesh Maisuria, store director at Specsavers Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush stores, said: ‘We’d love to see more families in store over the summer months. By opening additional clinics we want to encourage as many people in the area as possible to visit us for a sight test and to find out more information on protection their eyes from the sun.
Children who require a prescription can have UV protection on their glasses for free to prevent over-exposure to UV rays from a young age. This helps to reduce the likelihood of developing potentially sight-threatening conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, in later life.
I would urge parents to consider bringing their kids into store at this vital stage in their development. Our professional team is on hand to offer help and advice, and we have an extensive range of kids’ sunglasses on offer.’
