Staff at Specsavers in Hammersmith put the focus on man’s best friend during a fundraising day for Guide Dogs Week.
Optical experts at the store hosted a bake sale in aid of the charity, raising £95.06 during the in-store fundraising drive, at which customers and local residents were invited to try delicacies prepared by staff.
Store director at Specsavers in Hammersmith, Rita Francis, said: ‘It was important for us to highlight to the local community the huge roles that these dogs play in improving the lives of those who are visually impaired.
‘Throughout its life, a Guide Dog costs around £50,000 and provides invaluable mobility and freedom to someone who is blind or partially sighted.
‘I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who stopped by and donated. The money raised in store will help to make more of these important partnerships.’
