Specsavers store in Halewood was officially opened by Cllr Tina Harris, Chairperson of the Town Council and Mayor of Halewood, on Saturday 3 March.
The Mayor was on hand to cut the ribbon at the store in Halewood Shopping Centre on Leathers Lane alongside Specsavers store partners Adam Ormrod and Matthew Robinson.
The new Specsavers store has seen a £300,000 investment to ensure it offers the very latest in optical and audiological services. Customers will benefit from the latest technology including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), which is usually found in hospital eye departments.
The 3D technology produces a very detailed picture of the eye that allows optometrists to identify signs of disease years earlier than traditional methods such as age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
The store features three test rooms together with a contact lens and audiology department. In addition, six new staff members have been recruited from the local community.
'Offering the latest optical and audio technology'
Adam Ormrod said: ‘It was a huge honour to welcome our first customers through the door. This launch has been 18 months in the making and there is literally no detail that hasn’t been carefully scrutinised by myself and our brilliant team to ensure we are opening the very best store for the people of Halewood.
‘As well as offering the latest in optical and audio technology I’ve no doubt that the store’s location in Halewood Shopping Centre, will provide a convenient option for local families and commuters.’
The Halewood store is open seven days a week and provides the same optical and hearing services experienced in other Specsavers, including eye examinations and hearing tests, contact lens fitting, and a range of affordable and designer glasses.
