Visitors to Halesowen Specsavers were treated to live music and homemade cakes on Saturday (19 September), raising £189 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team served up an array of treats as they hosted a coffee morning, with the support of local businesses and singing sensation Esther Turner. There was also a raffle which saw five lucky customers walk away with prizes, including designer specs and a chocolate hamper.
‘Our coffee morning was a great success and we’re so pleased to have raised such a wonderful amount for Macmillan – it was a real team effort,’ said Shahid Parvez, store director. ‘Our cakes seemed to go down a treat and Esther put on an amazing performance for us which really helped get our fundraising efforts noticed by shoppers.
‘I’d just like to say a huge thank you to our customers who generously made a donation, as well as TH Baker, Jo’s Sandwich Shop and Russell’s Fruit Shop who all donated prizes for our raffle.’
The money raised by Specsavers will help Macmillan Cancer Support to continue its work to provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support to people affected by cancer in the UK.
