Staff from Specsavers in Greenock attended a glittering awards ceremony celebrating top sporting talent from Inverclyde.

The store sponsored the Adult Volunteer of the Year Award at this year’s Inverclyde Sports Personality Awards and had the opportunity to present the trophy to the winner, Stephen McLoone.

Honouring local talent


Jonathan Dry, store director at Specsavers in Greenock, said: ‘We were delighted to sponsor and attend The Inverclyde Sports Personality Awards. 

‘The awards recognised a host of sporting talent in Inverclyde and it was a privilege to present the Adult Volunteer of the Year Award to Stephen who was a very worthy winner.’

The ceremony took place at Greenock Town Hall and was compared by Jean Johansson of BBC’s The One Show and Mike McLean from Your Radio. Guests enjoyed entertainment from local band Reely Jiggered and talks from Scottish Commonwealth Games hockey player Kareena Cuthbert and Scottish Director of UK Chaplaincy Mark Fleming.
