An optical advisor from Great Yarmouth's Specsavers laced up his running shoes and hit the road to help raise vital funds for James Paget Renal Unit recently. Graham Tomes, joined a group of runners for the sponsored run which took place on Sunday 13th April.

Biggest challenge

Graham says: ‘I was really pleased to have raised money for such a worthwhile cause and was ecstatic with the £205 donated. ‘It is one of the biggest challenges I have faced and I am pleased that I had the backing from my colleagues in store and customers. The unit is something very close to my heart and I am pleased to be supporting them.’

Matching the amount raised

Store director Martin McCormack says: ‘Everyone in store supported Graham’s fundraising efforts and I am pleased to double the amount raised, bringing the grand total to £410.’ James Paget Renal Unit provides high quality services to patients who undergo kidney transplants. The service, run by consultants and teams of nurses, looks after patients throughout East Anglia.
