Specsavers Grantham dispensing optician, Anda Veita, has taken endurance to new limits after completing a 24-hour run in an effort to raise funds for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).

Setting off at noon on Saturday 22 September, Anda remained on track until 12 pm the following day.  A 24hour mixed terrain race, the Equinox24 saw Anda run rings around the Belvoir Castle Estate in a 10K loop against the clock.

A great cause

‘The race was perfectly timed to kickstart our fundraising in the lead-up to National Eye Health Week (24-30 September)’, said Anda.  ‘Naturally, the RNIB is a cause very close to our hearts and taking part in the race was the perfect opportunity to test my stamina while raising money for charity.’

Store director and optometrist Bijal Ladva, added: ‘Anda really is a force to be reckoned with and ran the Equinox24 last year to help with our fundraising efforts.  She’s kicked off our latest fundraising activities with an almighty feat and already raised £220 which will go towards helping one of the UK’s leading sight loss charities.’
