Specsavers in Grantham raised £170 for Guide Dogs after a special guest paid a visit to the store.

On Friday 10 October, William the Guide Dog and his owners Ed and Carol Brown, visited Specsavers in Grantham as part of Guide Dogs Week (4-12 October). Staff also supported the campaign by dressing in bright neon colours, featuring the neon yellow of the iconic Guide Dogs harness.

Bijal Ladva, store director of Specsavers Grantham, said: ‘It’s always a real pleasure to invite guide dogs and their handlers into the store. We hope that William’s visit will help raise awareness of how important it is to make it easier for blind and partially sighted people to enjoy the same freedom of movement that most of us may take for granted.’

All of the money raised will go to Guide Dogs who help more partially sighted and blind people get out and about on their own terms. The charity also campaigns for the rights of people with visual impairment, educates the public about eyecare and funds eye disease research. See www.guidedogs.org.uk.
