Following his departure from the Armed Forces, Gary Gregory decided to apply for a position at Specsavers in 1993.
While he admits to having no prior knowledge of the optometry industry at the time, Gary, now 46, worked hard to train up as lab technician.
He initially worked alongside a lab manager, who trained him in all areas of spectacle glazing, before taking the role of lab manager himself at various Specsavers stores.
Gary joined the Gosport team in 2011 and is responsible for managing the lab team and ensuring all spectacles are glazed to the highest possible standard.
He said: ‘For me, job satisfaction is knowing that all the work produced by our laboratory is of the highest quality – an achievement recently acknowledged by our inclusion in the 300 Club, a group of the top-performing labs in Specsavers.’
