Spec wearers in Gosport are being encouraged to drop off their old glasses at their local Specsavers store to help provide eye care to people living in challenging conditions in Africa.
Specsavers Gosport is once again collecting for Vision Aid Overseas (VAO), a charity providing optical services to communities in Sierra Leone, Zambia and other African countries.
Customers looking to support the cause can pop into the store and donate any unwanted or unused glasses they have. Funds raised from recycling these glasses will help Vision Aid Overseas provide services such as training local eye care workers and setting up vision centres.
A word from the store director
Philippe Brogan, store director at Specsavers Gosport, said: ‘Vision Aid Overseas does a brilliant job of providing vital eye care services to those less fortunate than us, and all glasses donations we receive will go a long way to supporting their work.’
