The Specsavers team in Goole have been calling on residents in Goole to help raise funds for the BBC Children in Need campaign.
Fundraising for Children in Need
The Specsavers store on Boothferry Road held fundraising days from Thursday 13 November until Saturday 15 November and encouraged customers to come into the store to help staff raise as much money as possible for the charity.
The team donned the famous Pudsey Bear ears and invited locals to nominate a local hero, for the chance for their nominee to win a pair of frames, up to the value of £125. Customers of the store were also able to enter a charity lucky dip.
Robert Winlow, store director at Specsavers in Goole, says: ‘We’re really pleased to have raised a substantial amount of money again for Children In Need. It’s a great charity that does wonderful things for children who would otherwise be missing out on a healthy, happy childhood.’
Beating last year's targets
Last year the BBC Children in Need campaign raised £49.6 million, bringing the total raised since its inception to £740 million. Every penny is spent on projects and grants that help disadvantaged children and young people in the UK to have a childhood.
