It's not every day that you have afternoon tea with Miss Earth Surrey. And it's not every day that Miss Earth Surrey gets to wear her crown when drinking a cuppa in a high street cafe.
But all this changed when Miss Earth Surrey (aka Esta - who is also a Specsavers colleague) treated a competition winner to afternoon tea at Changing Perceptions as part of a fundraising campaign for local charity, the Meath.
Supporting a great cause
The idea came about following a meeting with Specsavers colleagues from the Godalming store and the Meath. Specsavers is keen to support the charity and it was agreed that a colouring in competition for under 12s would take place on a fun day in store where customers were invited to make donations to the charity.
Lots of beautiful pictures
The competition opened on 26 May with lots of lovely entries being entered. It was a challenge to pick a winner, but in the end, the Meath and Esta agreed that Georgina Norman should win the afternoon tea who came along with little brother too.
Esta said: 'I had such a lovely time with Georgina. We enjoyed some lovely cakes, courtsey of Changing Perceptions.
'I also had the opportunity to chat a little bit about my Miss Earth Surrey role that is all about helping people to be a little bit 'greener' in and outside the home. We had a really fun time and the icing on the cake was knowing it raised money for the Meath at the same time.'
The team has also supported the Meath by attending the Godalming Town Show in June where Esta provided free face painting services in return for donations to the charity.
