Specsavers in The Glasgow Forge Shopping Centre took part in a fundraising day to raise money for Guide Dogs Scotland, collecting a total of £363 for the charity. To raise money, the Specsavers team at The Forge sold raffle tickets for the chance of winning a summer luxury treats hamper, full of tasty items to make the perfect afternoon tea.
Customers and team members received an extra special visit to the store on the day from guide dog Bronte and her owner, who came in to help raise awareness of the charity. Representatives from Guide Dogs Scotland were also on hand to talk about the great work the charity carries out.
A word from the director
Angela Lucas, store director at Specsavers Glasgow Forge, said: ‘Guide Dogs Scotland is a fantastic cause and we regularly support it by holding fundraisers.
‘Guide dogs are always so popular with our customers so we were thrilled that Bronte was able to join us for our fundraising activities. She made a really big impact on raising awareness on the day.
‘I’d like to thank customers for their very kind donations and we look forward to supporting the charity again in the future.’
