On 1 March, Specsavers Gillingham challenged the frosty weather and supported World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite children’s book characters and collecting books and Easter eggs to donate to the children’s ward of the Medway Hospital.
The staff got into the spirit of the day by dressing up as popular literary characters from comic books and books. Their impressive efforts managed to raise over 100 books and almost 20 Easter eggs for the great cause.
A word from the store director
Craig Holland, store director at Specsavers in Gillingham, says: ‘I couldn’t thank our amazing staff and customers enough for all their support and their very generous donations.
‘This cause was very close to our heart and we are very happy we can support the amazing work Medway Hospital does. We hope that our presents will bring a smile to those unfortunate children.’
