The Forfar opticians has been shortlisted for an award at this year’s Optician Awards.
In the running
Staff at Specsavers in Forfar are in the running to be crowned Optical Assistant Team of the Year.
The team will be attending the awards ceremony on 14 April in Birmingham alongside a host of industry talent.
The award will be presented to the team that best demonstrates excellence in customer service, team working and patient care.
Blair Michie, store director at Specsavers in Forfar, said: ‘I am incredibly proud of our optical assistant team. The number of accolades they have received in the past year is testament to their hard work and dedication to our customers.
‘We’re also very focused on continually looking at ways to deliver the best customer experience for all. Staff completed Dementia Friends training last year and have undertaken autism training in the past couple of months.
‘We’re all looking forward to attending the awards ceremony in April and will be over the moon if we bring the award back to Forfar with us.’
Recognised as the benchmark of excellence in the optical community, the Optician Awards showcase the best in achievement, ability and performance.
Among the store’s outstanding achievements, which helped to secure the place on the shortlist, include the Scottish Specsavers Customer Service Award which was presented to the team last year. The internal accolade is judged through mystery shopper visits and customer feedback.
Individual members of staff were also commended last year for instances where they went above and beyond to deliver impeccable customer care.
One particular example, where a member of staff personally drove a customer to hospital after being referred by the store, saw them not only receive a Specsavers Customer First award but also become the only non-NHS nominee shortlisted for a NHS Star Award.
