The Forfar store has invested in new equipment which has enabled it to undertake around 50 more eye tests per week.
Checking prescriptions even more efficiently
Specsavers in Forfar has installed phoropter heads in its test rooms which allows the store’s opticians to check patient prescriptions even more efficiently.
The machine changes lenses in front of patients’ eyes rather than the optician swapping them manually.
The phoropter heads will be used in addition to the opticians’ current testing equipment, which includes a digital retinal camera and visual fields machine, providing each customer with a comprehensive eye heath check.
Blair Michie, store director and optometrist at Specsavers in Forfar, said: ‘This investment is part of our on-going dedication to provide Forfar locals with the best service possible.
‘I’m delighted we have been able to substantially increase our capacity resulting in even greater availability of appointments for our customers. ‘With our new equipment, we are now able to conduct more than 150 eye examinations per week.’
