The Forfar opticians has raised more than £1,000 for charities and good causes in the past year.
Specsavers in Forfar held a number of fundraising events in 2016, with proceeds donated to Stepping Stones Playgroup and Help for Heroes.
Completing gruelling challenges for charity
Six members of staff from the store raised over £800 for Stepping Stones Playgroup by completing a gruelling sponsored mountain climb to the summit of Ben Nevis.
The money raised contributed towards art supplies, playgroup trips and replacing outdated resources for the playgroup which relies on donations to stay open.
The store’s staff also raised more than £250 for Help for Heroes after completing a Tough Mudder Half challenge – an endurance event in Dumfries and Galloway which included more than 14 challenging obstacles over five muddy miles.
Blair Michie, store director at Specsavers in Forfar, said: ‘I am very proud that our staff are not afraid to tackle tough challenges in support of some fantastic causes.
‘Scaling the 1,344 metre peak of Ben Nevis and taking part in Tough Mudder were amazing experiences – the icing on the cake was raising such a great amount for a vital charity and exceptional local playgroup.’
