Karen Carle, optical assistant at Specsavers in Forfar, has been recognised for going above and beyond to ensure a customer received her glasses before going on holiday.
Karen is the second member of staff at the store to receive a Customer First Award in recent months.
30-mile round trip
The Specsavers accolade was awarded to Karen after she made a 30-mile round trip on her day off to deliver specs to a customer who was worried that they would not arrive in time for her holiday.
The customer had visited the store to order new specs as her previous pair had broken.
Knowing that the customer was just about to go on holiday, Karen checked her lenses had arrived and got them glazed the same day before personally delivering them.
Blair Michie, store director at Specsavers in Forfar said: ‘Karen’s dedication to delivering our customer’s specs is just one of many examples of the outstanding customer service provided by our staff.
‘I’m very proud of the caring ethos each one of our members of staff share – they truly do go that extra mile and the fact that this is the second time they have been recognised demonstrates this.’
Supervisor Nicola Simpson also received a Customer First Award last month after driving a customer to hospital so she could receive urgent specialist treatment.
