As little Aarav Sapra’s charity run for MacMillan Cancer gains momentum, the Specsavers store in Feltham has its pledged support to the four-year-old by donating £150 to the cause.

Smashing the fundraising target

With an initial fundraising target of £500 and a secondary target of £1,000 already smashed, Specsavers in Feltham has pledged a further £150. The store will also give Aarav his first ever pair of prescription sunglasses.

Komal Sapra, Aarav’s mum, says: ‘We are delighted that Specsavers in Feltham is donating to the cause.

‘We go down to the store all the time because Aarav is constantly breaking his glasses and the team are just brilliant.

Aarav is excited to take part

‘He has really come out of his shell since deciding to do the run and he can’t wait to take part, along with his school friends who will be lending their support on his birthday.

‘He is so happy to be receiving his very own pair of sunglasses as he didn’t expect to get any gifts this birthday. I told him he wouldn’t get any presents this year but that he would get lots of blessings that would last hundreds of years, so this was an added bonus for him and we are very grateful to Specsavers for their donation.’

Mile-long run

Selcuk Arslan, store director at Specsavers in Feltham, says: ‘When we heard about Aarav and the mile-long run he is doing for his fifth birthday, we had to get involved.

An honourable little boy

‘We can’t believe how noble he is for such a young age - what an honourable thing to do.

‘We hope he has a great birthday and look forward to seeing him in store soon – hopefully with no broken sunglasses.’
