Lateef Iqbal, store director at Specsavers in Farnham, is a well-known face in the community.

Here, he shares the four things he loves about his store during February, the traditional month of love.

My team

'Without the great team here at the store, we wouldn't be able to achieve what we do to such a great standard. So I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their own going support.

'One thing I love more than anything is see below grow and develop during their time with us. Specsavers has a fantastic career progression programme in place for those wishing to extend their skills with our in-house and external training. Seeing someone flourish and achieve their potential is one of the best elements of my job.'

Getting involved in local community projects

'Giving back is important for businesses and we are proud supporters of many local initaitives. We sponsor Farnham in Bloom and Farnham Sports Awards that run each year. Farnham with other Surrey Specsavers stores also support regional initiatives such as the Surrey Youth Games and the Surrey FA.

'As a business that supports eye and hearing health, it is good to fund grassroots health campaigns like these, particularly ones that encourage children to get active.'

Our innovations

'The optical and audiology moves with great pace and Specsavers is very much at the forefront of this. We have amazing technology that enables us to check the health of the eye and also pick up wider health issues.

'Yes, we do sight tests but our diagnostic equipment allows us to go much deeper than this and monitor changes in eye health that could be early indicators of other issues such as glaucoma or diabetes. Our hearing team also has great tech at their disposal and we even offer free hearing tests."

Our fashionable frames

'Our store here in Farnham gets access to the latest styles, colours and frame shapes from all around the world. We boast, in my opinion, some of the best styles in Farnham. Whatever your style, we have a frame to suit you.'
