The Lisa May Foundation is a charity that Specsavers Farnham has supported for a few years now. So Lateef Iqbal, store director, was delighted to don his trainers and walk the Surrey Half Marathon on Sunday 13 March to raise money for this great cause.
Going for Gold!
Lateef is a keen sportsman and usually powers around a track with a good sprint but this year, he admits his training had fallen a bit short. But undeterred, he decided to walk the Surrey Half Marathon this year because he wanted to play his small part in raising money for the Lisa May Foundation.
A great cause
The Lisa May Foundation supports selected local charities in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire, at the same time raising funds for victims of natural disaster across the world. The charity was founded after Surrey Heath Councillor John May lost his daughter Lisa to the tsunami that devastated Thailand on Boxing Day 2004.
