Specsavers in Fareham will be invaded by storm troopers and Darth Vader to encourage donations for Macmillan Cancer Support.

UK Garrison visit

The store is raising money for the charity throughout the last week of October. The main fundraising day will take place on Saturday 1 November, which will see a visit from the UK Garrison.

Staff will also be getting in the Mary Berry mindset to bake their best cupcakes and customers will be able to take part in a ‘guess how many sweets are in the jar’ competition, with all funds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Store director Simon Wain will be donating £500 to the charity to add to the total amount which is raised.

A life-changing cause

Mr Wain says: ‘We’re inviting everyone in Fareham to come and meet their favourite Star Wars characters and enjoy culinary delights from our team.

‘This day is so important for Macmillan and we’re encouraging people to come in store to buy our homemade cakes and donate towards such a life-changing cause, to help fight cancer.’

The UK Garrison will be at Specsavers Fareham on Saturday 1 November from 10am to 4pm.
