Name any work position at a Specsavers store and it’s highly likely that Daniel Rance has done it.
Having moved from his previous job as a petrol station manager in Gosport to join Specsavers in February 2009, Daniel has since taken on a number of roles ranging from lab technician and receptionist to frame stylist and supervisor.
Putting customer service first
His hard work has seen him recently promoted to the position of store manager at Specsavers in Fareham. Daniel says: ‘My main responsibilities include supporting the store director, Simon Wain, and the general store manager, Lisa Milton. I run the store’s day-to-day trading systems to ensure the best possible customer service is received by all of our patients.
‘I also ensure that the Fareham team are all given the support required to deliver a great service to our patients.’
Daniel says becoming store manager is his proudest achievement with the company to date, along with his recent qualification as a dispensing optician. Having previously passed his Cert 3 and Cert 4 training modules, he has also successfully completed Specsavers’ fast track dispensing optician course.
‘As a dispensing optician I am required to supervise the dispensing of under-16s spectacles and patients who are registered sight impaired,’ says Daniel.
