A Falmouth make-up artist, Sally Orchard, is celebrating being named a semi-finalist in the national Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards.
Sally has been a customer at Specsavers in Falmouth since first moving to the town some 20 years ago.
Sally commented: ‘I’ve heard a lot about the competition over the years and just thought I’d give it a go. I’ve always loved wearing my glasses and I think the competition is a great way to support young people who are perhaps less confident wearing their glasses.
‘Working as a make-up artist and photographer I have first-hand experience of what confidence can do for a person and how it shines through in photographs so if I can help someone a little more through this competition then great!’

Gillian Sanguinette, store director, added: ‘We were so pleased to hear that Sally had entered and been short-listed. She has been a customer for a long time and always looks immaculate. She’s a fantastic glasses ambassador.’
Sally has qualified in the 35-44 age category. She collected her prize, including a £150 eye wear voucher, champagne and a certificate from the Specsavers store in Falmouth.
