Specsavers Exmouth provides customers with quality eyecare. It is owned and run by Ria Heskins.
Ria Heskins is the retail director and has worked with Specsavers for 15 years. After originally moving to the South West in 1992 she fell in love with the area.
Ria initially worked locally within retail and then began work at a primary school working with children with special needs. Ria enjoyed the rewarding nature of the job and found pleasure in watching the children progress and succeed. She was also a governor of the school.
In 1999 Ria was walking past Exmouth Specsavers shop window where she saw an advert for a part time dispensing assistant and the rest is history. She began as a dispenser, went on to become corporate sales co-ordinator, IT supervisor and in-store trainer. She then became assistant manager and, six years ago, a practice manager. In February 2014 she took on the role as store director.
Ria, originally from a town in Christchurch, married and ended up moving 14 times in 14 years due to the demands of being a Royal Marine forces wife. Her favourite part of her job is the people. She loves working with her team and interacting with customers.
Ria’s personal interests span a wide range from dog walking and family time to ghost hunting and canal boating.
