Mum of two and Specsavers team member, Michelle Ursini, was one of more than five hundred women who took part in a charity evening walk along the Exmouth Seafront.
The customer service advisor from Exmouth joined women from all over Exeter, East and Mid Devon for the annual Hospiscare Twilight Walk to raise money for the local charity which cares for the terminally ill.
Glitter and Sparkle
Michelle, 41, said that she was inspired to take part in the five mile walk by her neighbour, Vivian, who is manager of the Exeter Road Hospiscare shop. The women dressed in pink T-shirts and glittery accessories in line with this year’s ‘Glitter and Sparkle’ theme.
The Twilight Walk
Michelle joined Vivian and volunteers from the Hospiscare shop on the evening of Saturday 9 July to walk the two-hour loop around Exmouth, beginning at The Maer and returning along the Esplanade and marina.
She said: ‘It’s always a pleasure to take part in an activity that raises money for a good cause, especially when we get to dress up! I’m glad that Vivian convinced me to get involved and I hope that all the money my friends and colleagues have generously donated makes a difference to people in the last chapter of their lives.’
The money raised through sponsorship, the entry fee and donations goes towards the Hospiscare charity, which specialises in delivering and developing end of life care for those that need it in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.
