An Exmouth business has proven that it not only excels in eyecare and audiology but is also home to happy and inspired staff, after being recognised as a Platinum Employer.

Specsavers Exmouth was the second store in the south west region to receive the group’s Platinum Employer status, a scheme created to reward dedication to people development.

Passing with flying colours

Store director Ria Heskins said: ‘There was a rigorous assessment involved in achieving this award including staff interviews, reviewing all of our processes and appraisal system.

‘My business partner, Tracey Dunn and I are very proud of all the team at Specsavers in Exmouth and look forward to helping all our staff achieve more.’

What is Platinum Employer status?

The Platinum Employer status is an externally-ratified assessment, devised and overseen by employee engagement specialist the Hay Group. It is tailor-made for optical and audiology retail and sets high standards to be met across all aspects of staff wellbeing and career development.

Celebrations for all the team

Specsavers Exmouth opened in 1987 and today the team consists of 21 members of staff.

To celebrate their achievements every member of the team was awarded with wine and chocolates, as a thank you for all their hard work and dedication to the business.
