The team at Specsavers Evesham has raised £194.14 after running two coffee mornings in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has been running since 1990 and has raised more than £200 million to date. This year, the store joined in the fundraising efforts with coffee mornings held on both Friday 31 August and Saturday 1 September.
A word from the store director
Store director Amy Liau said: ‘Our team love to take part in fundraising for Macmillan and we’ve had a fantastic weekend catching up with our customers over a cuppa and some sweet treats. After the success of our cake sale last year we decided to join in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. We’re thrilled that we’ve exceeded monies raised from past efforts. Everyone has been so generous – a massive thank you to all who took part.’
It is estimated that one in two people will face cancer in their lifetime. Macmillan provide support to those diagnosed, helping them to take back control of their lives through a range of services including medical support, financial advice and a listening ear.
