Staff at Specsavers Evesham have thrown down the gauntlet, swapping their specs for shields as they prepare to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Evesham (8 and 9 August).
The team have been getting into the spirit of things – dressing up as knights and kings, preparing the cavalry for conquest.
Staff are also encouraging people to enter the store’s own ‘best costume competition’ – with a chance to win a pair of designer specs complete with single vision lenses. People can simply drop off a photo of them in their best ‘battle’ costume or have a photo taken in store if they are armed and ready! The winning costume will be announced on Tuesday 11 August.
‘We're proud and honoured to be commemorating this historic event,’ said Amy Liau, store director Evesham Specsavers. ‘All of the staff are on board and are busy planning an entertaining weekend for all. We really hope that the whole of Evesham gets behind the event and comes down to join in the fun.’
