The team at Specsavers in Evesham were delighted to welcome one of their oldest customers into the store.

Mr Roland Leake, who turned 100 in June, came for his regular sight test with his cousin in August. Mr Leake, who lives in the town, was offered tea and biscuits on his visit to see optometrist, Komal Pandit, but professed a fondness for fish and chips.

Age-related changes

Store manager CT Wong said: ‘It was a pleasure to see this lovely gentleman in store. He takes good care of his eyes and has a straightforward prescription for someone of his age.

‘Changes to vision are a natural part of the ageing process after the age of 40, so it’s important to have regular eye tests to ensure that any age-related conditions can be managed effectively.

‘We treated Mr Leake to a 50% discount on his glasses and a fish and chip take-away when he came in to collect his new specs.’
